Digital X-Rays

Chances are, you are like most people and you don’t particularly enjoy taking time out of your busy schedule to visit the dentist.

At Glazer Family Dentistry, we understand this, and for that reason, we do whatever we can to make your trip to the dentist a quick and convenient visit. One of the ways we do this is by implementing the latest in dental technology, including our use of digital radiographs, panoramic x-rays, and an intraoral camera.

We use proven technology to make your visit more comfortable, accurate, and safe.

In dentistry, the earlier we can identify a problem, the earlier you can receive treatment. And earlier treatment usually means it will be less uncomfortable and less expensive.

Digital Radiographs

Not only are digital x-rays quicker than traditional x-rays, but they are also safer because they have less radiation. We can also easily enhance images so more detail can be seen and images can be seen immediately. Digital copies can often be fixed without the need for an additional picture to be taken. Digital x-rays are also easy to email to specialists and insurance companies, meaning you might be able to receive recommended treatment right away, rather than having to wait.

Digital x-rays expose patients to less radiation, making them safer for everyone. Although certain patients, such as pregnant women, will want to be careful when having x-rays taken, digital radiographs mean more accessibility for all.

Panoramic X-Rays

In contrast to the traditional dental x-ray, a panoramic x-ray generates one image of your entire mouth. This enables Dr. Glazer to view everything in just one picture, including all your teeth, the upper and lower jaws, the temporomandibular joints, and even your nasal area and sinuses.

Because the image is flat rather than curved, it gives Dr. Glazer a different view of the mouth. It is easier to analyze each part on this flat representation rather than by viewing the curved structure of the jaw. With this x-ray technology, we can look at just one single film and quickly get a comprehensive view of your whole mouth.

Intraoral Camera

Digital radiographs are invaluable when it comes to seeing what isn’t visible to your dentist’s naked eye, but intraoral cameras go beyond what can be seen on a radiograph.

These tiny cameras, about the size of a dental mirror, are able to provide enough light so we can see every part of your mouth. Intraoral cameras make it possible to see even the smallest fractures in teeth and the tiniest cavities in their earliest stages. Plaque deposits, excessive wear on the teeth, and fillings that are worn can also be spotted with this amazing tool. Your dentist will be able to show you why a specific procedure is recommended!

Make your next trip to the dentist as efficient as possible with the dental technology available at Glazer Family Dentistry!
