National Dental Hygiene Month

October 8, 2018
Posted By: Dr. Glazer

October is the beginning of the holiday season here at Glazer Family Dentistry. In addition to Halloween, October is also National Dental Hygiene Month. We are taking this time to educate patients what a hygienist is and how they are an integral part of our dental family.

A dental hygienist cleans more than teeth, they work together with the dentist to meet your oral health needs!

Here are a few of the services provided by your dental hygienist:

  • Assess oral health conditions, review health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection

  • Take dental radiographs

  • Removing calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth

  • Applying preventive materials like sealants and fluoride

  • Education patients on appropriate techniques to maintain oral health like tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.

An important message from Dr. Glazer
Due to the most recent developments in the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our doors effective tomorrow, Friday, March 20th. The safety of our patients, our staff and our community were paramount in making this decision and is something we do not take lightly. We feel our responsibility to do our part to "flatten the curve" and keep our community safe.
